Update on the Batemans Bay bridge Monday 18 May 2021.

Update on the Batemans Bay bridge Monday 18 May 2021.

It appears the two southern sections are ready to lift. Quite a lot of work to strengthen the current steel and to put braces on them so they don't collapse when lifted.
Which one will go first? Bets on the northern one just south of the lifting span.
The Innes ferry will then be able to pass between the piles and under the new bridge. Not many more times you will have the opportunity to watch the bridge lift.
Next big operation will be the counter weights and then the road section. Because there is so many wires, cables, generators and safety switches that operation will take some time.
Finally the two northern sections will need to be strengthened and braced before they can be lifted and finally the two n and s road sections.
Lastly the piles. That will be a future post.
Look at the massive work being undertaken on the north shore.
